Students raise fish from eggs and later release their fish into a local waterway. Students learn how their everyday choices make a difference in their watershed for the health of fish and people. During the spring of 2017 we served 26 classrooms in San Luis Obispo County and Northern Santa Barbara County.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”704″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

Brand new experiential learning program for the Central Coast! High school students understand their interconnectedness to our local watersheds using Pismo clams as the lens to view the natural world. The curricula is highlighted by field trips to local beaches where students monitor Pismo clam populations and collect previously absent baseline data.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrBijKf0Ywk” el_width=”50″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

This new program, DROPS (Drought Response Outreach Program for Schools), focuses on water conservation and how students can make better choices everyday to adapt to a new normal of prolonged periods of drought. We’ll be delivering this curricula to Paulding Middle School and Central Coast New Tech High School.
