Biography
Sierra, a native of Los Osos, attributes her dedication to social and ecological well-being to the influential individuals and environments that shaped her upbringing. With a bachelors from UCSB in Environmental Studies, she has held diverse roles including abalone hatchery technician, regenerative agriculturist, ocean lifeguard, and coordinator of various programs. Studies in Costa Rica in Sustainable Development along with non-profit work abroad in Panama and Sri Lanka, have instilled a profound appreciation for different lifestyles and communities’ roles in ecological and social health. Leveraging her multifaceted professional background and broad perspectives, Sierra is excited to support local watersheds, oceans and environments as a Creek Land Conservation Board Member.
Currently serving as Central Coast State Park Association’s Executive Director, Sierra spends much of her time working to support local State Parks education and conservation/restoration programs. However in her free time, Sierra can be found surfing coastal waters, trail running local peaks or enjoying a cup of espresso at local coffee shops with her new puppy!
